Sunday School officially starts when children turn 4. In this group, Abiding Peace partners with parents to lay a firm foundation of faith through youth Bible studies and our school ministry. However from the beginning of their lives on earth, Abiding Peace is committed to helping children know the love of their Savior. We provide parents with “Cradle Roll” materials to encourage and assist them to teach their little one from infancy. Children are a gift of God’s grace and we are excited to team up with parents in teaching them about Jesus!
We aim to prepare our teens to answer anybody who asks them, “…to give the reason for the hope that you have” (1 Peter 3:15). The foundation of their faith has been laid and in the teens group, they continue to build up their understanding. Teens study the Bible together on Sunday mornings and get to enjoy special events, outings, and camps to gain fellowship and experience in serving others as they strengthen their faith for college and beyond.
We seek to keep our college and college-age members connected to Jesus because--college or not, navigating the waters of these years can be challenging. This stage of life is filled with big, life-changing decisions that prove to be stressful. We reach out to our area universities with campus ministry studies and social time to connect our members to resources. We want them to have peace and confidence—in their faith and in their life--as they chart a path for their futures.
This group seeks to build Christian friendships during the early years of career-building, parenting, and creating a unique path in life. During this time, it is important to have an encouraging system of like-minded believers in similar stages of life. This group is a perfect place to build that supportive community.
Each age brings its own joys and challenges, and middle age is no different. We rejoice that God’s Word stays the same and offers peace and comfort as we experience changes in our homes, careers, and in our health. We are blessed to be able to gather and talk with fellow Christians about the highs and lows of life.
Retirement can bring many ups and downs that God addresses with his Word and promises. It is a blessing to get together with others who can relate to the joys and challenges of no longer working full time. This is especially true when we recognize that these years are the “sunsetting” ones and that the end of life may be drawing near. What a gift of God’s grace to have the peace and hope that God gives through his Word, and to be able to spend time with others who share a common faith in Jesus.
